Precalclulus Graphical, Numerical, Algebraic.  Demana, Waits, Foley, Kennedy.  Pearson.  2004

Core:  Precalculus meets 50-55 minutes per day, 5 days per week, schedule permitting. 

  1. Introduce: Opening/Warm-Up (5 minutes)
  • Warm up—Diagnose readiness for the lesson
  1. Teach: Direct Instruction (25-30 minutes)
  • Assess prior knowledge
  • Diagnose understanding of lesson concepts
  1. Student Practice/Formative Assessment: Independent or Small Group (20-25 minutes)
  • Student practice and problem solving
  • Monitor understanding during lesson
  • Differentiated instruction practice
  • Provide higher order thinking challenges to extend target
  • Section Quizzes
  • Student resources online
  1. Formal Assessment:
  • Mastery of chapter concepts
  • Multiple-Choice Tests (Forms A, B)
  • Free-Response Tests (Forms A, B)
  • Performance Assessment
  • Cumulative Test
