About CHS ~

Colfax High School, which serves students in grades 9-12, enrolls approximately 240 students. The staff, which includes 15 full or part-time certificated teachers and 7 full or part-time classified support personnel, is a talented and committed group of individuals who are proud of the outstanding tradition and reputation of Colfax High School. They have high expectations for student learning and behavior, taking seriously their responsibility to provide curriculum and activities that prepare students to meet state learning goals and become successful adults.

In addition to high standards for academics, Colfax High School students have experienced a great deal of success in competitions for athletics, music, drama, FFA, FCCLA, Future Problem Solving, Knowledge Bowl, SADD, and other activities. Combining intense competition with academic success is a tradition in Colfax.

Colfax High School, originally constructed in 1960, underwent a major remodel completed in 2005.  This remodel included upgrades to electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, fire suppression, phone and water systems and other structural improvements. In the main building there are 18 regular classrooms, a library, a multi-purpose room, gymnasium, and a 650-seat auditorium. The agriculture building, adjacent to the main building, houses one regular classroom, a shop, and a greenhouse. The entire school is networked with over 180 computers available to students and staff.
